Bug Buddies is a toy designed for Chronicle Books. The idea behind the toy is to help children (and parents) learn more about the little six-legged friends that we share the earth with. Bug Buddies include a Ladybug, Harlequin Beetle, Cockroach and Stag beetle. Each bug consists of three parts that are magnetic, stackable wood blocks.
Walk the Walk
Walk the Walk was a conceptual project based on imagining the life of a complete stranger on the street and designing a shoe for them. The woman is shoe is based on is an avid gardener living in Southern California whose favorite thing to grow is eggplant. The shoe is made entirely from peeled, dried eggplant skins.
The Kale Cup was inspired by the herb garden at the Huntington Library in Pasadena, CA. The cup was carved out of foam before a plaster, three-part mold was made and slip casted. The sleeve is a braided leather and backed with a thick felt, perfect for hot drinks!
Linelight is pendant light that can be shipped and displayed in it's packaging. The light is made from walnut, copper and shipped in a recycled cardboard tube.
Anthropologie Visual Display
During my internship at Anthropologie, I assisted in conceptualizing, building and executing the Fall window display. The window was inspired by the pattern work of William Morris. Each piece of the display was cut out of cardboard, coated in a glue-sand mixture and painted. The top pieces of the display are coated in copper foil.
